In the 1950's Phillip and Katherine Dingman came to Canadohta Lake and operated a small store and cottage rental business.  Later, Harold and Nancy 'Dingman' Higby moved to Canadohta Lake from Meadville with their family to build a life founded on family values and having fun working together.  Higby's Campground has been in operation at Canadohta Lake since 1970.  Our campground is family owned and operated. 

 

Harold and Nancy fully retired in 2016 and their sons, Mike and Mark took over daily operations of the campground through 2021.  Mike's children, Damon Higby, wife Billie-Jo, and RyAnne Higby-Keister, husband Randy, have been a big part of running the campground and took over operations in 2022.  You may also meet any of the young members of the 5th generation while visiting us (Cole, Lily, and Raelyn Higby and Dylan and JayAnne Keister). They are usually mowing lawns, watching the pool / game room, making popcorn, riding bikes, playing basketball or ga-ga ball, skipping stones in the creek or swimming.

 

Higby's Campground opens each year welcoming new and returning campers for a new season.  We appreciate the support from our campers, including some families that have been with us since the campground opened at Canadohta Lake in 1970.  We strive to provide a comfortable, family oriented place for our guests to spend their summers.  We love Canadohta Lake and camping!  Come stay with us and you will see...
